TONITA, Christopher 1922-2007. Christopher Tonita passed away on February 14, 2007 in Medicine Hat, AB at the age of 84. He will be remembered by his loving wife Lillian; his four children Shirley Ann Hyer (George) of Abbotsford, BC, Lawrence Tonita of Stavely, AB, Bonnie White (Bob) of Calgary, AB, and Holly Dahl (Roger) of Viceroy, SK; 11 grand-children; and 6 great grand-children. Chris never wandered too far from where he was born and reared in Lakenheath, SK. He served in the South Saskatchewan Artillery Regiment from February 1943 to April 1945. After his discharge he worked in Ontario where he met Lil Adams. They married and moved back to the farm where they worked together for 42 years. Chris enjoyed hunting, golfing, curling, dancing and his participation with the #17 Assiniboia Royal Canadian Legion. He donated 50 pints of blood to the Canadian Red Cross, was active in the St. Boniface Anglican Church and was an amateur actor in the Assiniboia Drama Club. In his later years he lived in Regina, Abbotsford and Medicine Hat. Funeral Services will be held at PIERSON'S Forest Lawn Chapel, 4121 17 Avenue S.E., Calgary on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. with visitation prior at 8:00 a.m. If friends desire donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta, #134, 1935 32 Ave N.E., Calgary, T2E 7C8.
